Disintermediation
Disintermediation: the removing of the middle man
- you can thank my lecturer for that little insight
The idea of blogs connecting questions straight to their answers without anyone in between shows the magnitude of technological advancements. With that said, and all these answers at our finger tips, surely Gen Y should be the smartest generation of people to ever exist! But wait … hang on, that’s not right … and i can’t tell you why either. Maybe we are just used to having the answers so we don’t look for them. Sure if we think of something we’re not sure about we are definately going to google it or it look it up through a blogging search engine, but why if it’s so easy and quick haven’t we googled everything we’ve ever thought about or considered? Is it because all this technology has made us lazy? Or is it because we’re more inclined to look up the guy who can sing both parts to Aladdin’s ‘A Whole New World’ than why the earth rotates around the sun? Maybe it’s because we don’t have computers with us at all times, but with the new mobile phone technology we are all about to get ridiculously smart? Or is it because we are too distracted by the other people who we are now connected to and social interation is just more interesting? Just something I was thinking about … deep I know.
